This ghost tattoo is located on the bicep of my right arm. It was my very first tattoo. I went into the tattoo parlor shortly after my 18th birthday, bringing in my own doodle to have permanently on my skin. The ghost itself was just a simple sketch from my high school sketchbook, originally intended to test out a new set of ink pens. The tattoo healed beautifully, and remained consistent with the actual doodle itself.

This ghost tattoo wasn’t originally supposed to have any meaning at all. It was simply a doodle I saw in my sketchbook and enjoyed enough to have a tattoo of it. Over the years, I’ve ended up finding many meanings in this ghost. I’ve always had a love for the macabre, and what’s a better symbol of that than a ghost? The original doodle was also done during a time where I was deciding to pursue a creative degree, and my tattoo is a pleasant reminder of that decision-making process.
